What's In My Bag This Summer 2026: A Trainer's Honest Edit
If you follow me on Instagram, you already know I basically live out of one bag. Between coaching sessions, shoots for @thegvedit, gym runs and long sunny days that turn into evenings out, my bag has to do everything, keep me sun-protected, sweat-proof and put-together with about ninety seconds of effort.
So this is the real one. Not a sponsored wishlist, the actual products rattling around in my bag this summer, why they earned their spot, and the trainer's-eye reason each one survives heat, sweat and a packed schedule. Grab a coffee; we're going through all of it.
The Summer Scents I Rotate
Fragrance is the fastest way to feel reset between a training session and real life. These three are my whole summer mood.
Loewe Aire Sutileza Eau de Toilette
My everyday "clean skin but make it expensive" scent. Loewe Aire Sutileza is soft, airy and slightly soapy in the best way, light enough that it never competes with a sweaty gym morning, but lingers just enough to feel intentional. This is my daytime, in the bag at all times pick.
Byredo Bal d'Afrique
When the day turns into dinner, Byredo Bal d'Afrique comes out. Warm, woody, a little vintage, it's the one people stop me to ask about. A single spritz on the wrists and it carries me from sunset to late.

Victoria Beckham Beauty Portofino '97 Eau de Parfum My after dark signature. Victoria Beckham Portofino '97 opens with a euphoric hit of Calabrian bergamot and black pepper, then warms into incense, amber, patchouli and vetiver, that soft, skin warmed sea breeze sensuality that's perfect for evenings out. It's a little sultry, a little romantic, and the kind of scent that makes people lean in and ask what you're wearing. I keep this one for when the day turns into night and I want to feel quietly seductive, not sporty. The blue Ligurian Sea bottle is the prettiest thing on my dresser, too. |
Sun & Skin: My Non Negotiables
As someone outdoors and active all summer, sun protection isn't a "nice to have," it's the entire skincare routine. This is the section I'd never skip.
La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF 50 Face Mist
The single most important thing in my bag. La Roche-Posay SPF 50 face spray lets me re-apply sun protection over makeup, mid-day, without ruining anything, no white cast, no greasy face. If you take one product from this whole post, make it this one. Reapplying SPF is the most underrated anti-ageing habit there is.
rhode Glazing Milk
The viral one, and worth it. rhode Glazing Milk is a lightweight ceramide essence I press in before makeup for that lit-from-within, "glazed" finish. In summer I skip heavy moisturiser entirely and let this do the work under SPF.
Anua PDRN Hyaluronic Capsule Mist
My hydration top up. A few spritzes of the Anua PDRN Hyaluronic mist after training instantly de-flushes my face and stops that tight, dehydrated feeling from air-con and sun. Doubles as a makeup-setting refresher.
VT PDRN Glow
The K beauty glow booster I press in on tired skin days. Plumping, dewy, and tiny enough to disappear into any bag pocket.
Salt & Stone Natural Deodorant
Non negotiable for a trainer. Salt & Stone deodorant actually holds up through a session, smells clean and luxe (not "gym locker"), and the aluminium-free formula means I'll happily reapply throughout the day.
The Skinny Confidential HOT Mess Ice Roller
My morning de puff ritual that travels. Two minutes of cold rolling drains overnight puffiness and wakes my face up before makeup, especially after a salty dinner or an early flight.
Chanel La Crème Main Texture Riche
Coaching, weights and constant hand washing wreck your hands. Chanel La Crème Main is my one indulgence, rich, fast-absorbing, and the little oval case feels like a treat every time I reach for it.
Sweat Proof Makeup That Actually Survives a Workout
My rule: if it can't survive a sweaty face and a quick touch up in a gym mirror, it doesn't make the bag. Everything here is built for movement. |

Dior Forever Skin Perfect Foundation
The MVP. It's my second skin and it brightens under my eyes and covers anything without creasing or sliding off in the heat. On low effort days this is my entire base.
YSL Make Me Blush, Shade 44 "Nude Lavallière"
The shade that does the most with the least. YSL Make Me Blush in 44 Nude Lavallière is that perfect dusty nude pink that reads "just finished a great workout," not "wearing makeup." It's sweat-resistant and blurring, so it stays put even when I'm warm.
REFY Brow Sculpt
Big, fluffy, fixed in place brows are 80% of looking pulled together. REFY keeps mine set all day through heat and sweat, the one step I never skip even on a no makeup day.
NYX Lip Lingerie XXL Matte Liquid Lipstick, Shade 02 "Turn On"
My everyday lip that costs less than lunch and outlasts the whole day. The NYX Lip Lingerie XXL in 02 "Turn On" is that perfect skin toned beige nude, it gives "my lips but expensive" without looking like I tried. The matte formula is genuinely transfer proof, so it survives water bottles, post-workout protein shakes and a full day of coaching without a single touch up. This is my no fuss, throw it in the bag nude that just works.
Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick, Shade 140 "Soloist"
When I want to look done in two seconds flat, Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink in 140 "Soloist" comes out. It's a rich, deep burgundy red that instantly makes a bare summer face look intentional, the kind of statement lip that carries an outfit on its own. The 16 hour formula means I can apply it before an evening out and never think about it again: no smudging, no fading, no reapplying. Proof you don't need a luxury price tag for a lip that performs.
Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Foundation
My two in one cheat. The Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Foundation Stick gives the most natural, lit from within skin, sheer, hydrating coverage that looks like better skin, not makeup, which is exactly what I want on a hot training day. I swipe it straight onto my cheeks and blend with fingers in ten seconds. But here's my real trick: I also use it as a highlighter, a dab high on the cheekbones, down the nose and on the cupid's bow, pressed in with a fingertip, for that glazed, glowy summer finish. One stick, two jobs, zero brushes, perfect for the bag.
rhode Peptide Lip Treatment (Unscented)
The rhode Peptide Lip Treatment is the one lip product that never leaves my bag, a thick, nourishing glaze that hydrates and replenishes while giving that glossy, glass-skin finish everyone's after this summer. I keep the unscented, fragrance free version because it never stings, even on dry, post workout lips. It's lip care and an everyday gloss in one, and this hydrating lip treatment is the thing I reapply more than anything else I own.
Dior Addict Lip Glow 922
The luxe upgrade for evenings. The glossy, hydrating "your lips but better" balm that lives in my pocket. A swipe of Dior Addict over the rhode tint and my lips are sorted for the day.
Hair Rescue
Morfose Milk Therapy Creamy Mousse Conditioner
Sun, salt water and sweat are brutal on hair. Morfose Milk Therapy is my leave in mousse rescue, protein rich, anti frizz and heat protecting, so I can air dry after the gym and still look like I tried.
And One Forever Essential
Celine Sunglasses
The instant "I'm ready" accessory. They hide a no makeup face, protect your eyes (and the delicate skin around them) from UV, and finish every single summer outfit. Mine never leave the bag.
My 5-Second Summer Bag Formula
If you only build a mini version of this, here's the core five I'd never travel without:
- SPF face mist (La Roche-Posay), reapply, always
- A glazing / hydrating base (rhode Glazing Milk)
- One do it all lip (Benefit Benetint Cheek and Lip Stain)
- One do it all foundation (Dior Forever Skin Perfect, apply as a concealer or foundation)
- A signature scent (Loewe Aire Sutileza)
That's a complete "ready for anything" kit in one small pouch.
FAQ
What are the must have beauty products for a summer bag?
A high SPF face mist you can reapply over makeup, a hydrating essence or glazing milk, a tinted lip balm, a sweat proof concealer and a lightweight fragrance. Those five cover sun protection, hydration, colour and feeling fresh all day.
What's the best SPF to reapply over makeup?
A fine-mist facial SPF like the La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF 50 mist sprays evenly over makeup with no white cast, so you can top up sun protection through the day without disturbing your base.
What should I keep in my gym bag for after a workout?
Natural deodorant, a hydrating face mist, a tinted lip balm, an all in one foundation, brow gel and a travel fragrance. You can go from session to street in under five minutes without a full re do.
Is a peptide lip tint worth it?
If you want lip care and a wash of colour in one step, yes. A peptide lip tint like rhode's conditions the lips while giving a glossy, natural flush, ideal for low effort summer days.
